Facilities: Camp Masala has access to spectacular facilities at the University of St. Thomas: John Roach Center classrooms & auditorium, Anderson Student Center, Anderson Athletic Complex, The View Dining Area, Scooters Gathering Space, Residence Hall rooms & lounges, and Campus green space.
Housing: Camp Masala attendees are strongly encouraged to stay on site to get the full camp experience. Camp Masala is intended to be a family weekend to reinforce the importance of our kids’ heritage in our lives. An essential part of the experience is staying together and interacting in the evenings & mornings before scheduled camp activities and keeping the children together as much as possible so they can form lasting friendships.
Reservations and payment for on-site housing must be made at the time of registration. Accommodations on site at St Thomas are usually in Morrison Hall:
Apartment-style quad dormitory rooms with 4 separate bedrooms, each with a twin bed.
Each apartment has 4 single beds. UST allows only one person per bed, plus up to 2 children per apartment. No exceptions.
Each apartment is air-conditioned and includes: kitchen with microwave & refrigerator, basic living room furniture, 2 private baths with tubs & showers, 4 twin beds. Basic bed linens and bath towels are provided – no dishes or utensils. Many families like to bring their own bath towels, hand towels and washcloths as well as sleeping bags or blankets.
Wheelchair accessible units are available. The campus is wheelchair accessible.
The Dormitory has a Common area lounge with Cable TV, laundry facilities and vending machines.
Campus Security is available 24 hours a day, and the dormitory is secured – residents will have keycards to enter.
